Laguna Seca Race

I had a great time in Laguna Seca last weekend. I got the pole Friday and the car was very good. My team mate Roberto Gonzales started the race. He was leading until he got hit by a P2 car and we lost a few positions. His tires stated to go off and he got hit again and spun. We were 2 laps down. With 3h:30min to go, I got in the car and started to recover setting the fastest race lap.. I got both laps back and when I passed the P3 car, he block me and I couldn't avoid and hit him on the side. The car still good and I got the lead with 1h:30 to go. Because the incident, I got penalize with a stop and 60second. I went back to P5 and started to recover again to P2. With 4 laps to go, I passed to P1 and with 2 laps to go, I got stock behind a GTC car and I lost the lead. I finished P2  0.3second behind the P1 in a 6hours race. Pretty close. It was an important result for the team and give us more motivation and confidence for the next race.

Eu tive um otimo fim de semana em Laguna Seca. Fiz a Pole e o carro esta bom para a corrida. Meu companheiro largou e depois de 30min tomou um toto e perdeu algumas posicoes. mais tarde bateram nele denovo e acabou rodando. Estavamos 2 voltas atras do lider. Entrei no carro com 3h:30 para o final. Com um ritimo forte e a volta mais rapida da corrida, conseguir voltar para a volta do lider. Quando fui passar o terceiro lugar, ele me fechou e acabamos batendo de lado e ele rodou. Continuei e conseguir assimir a lideranca. Pelo incidente tomei uma penalizacao de parada nos boxs e espera de 60segundos. Cai para P5 e comecei a recuperar denovo. Faltando 4 voltas assimi a lideranca, mas com 2 voltas para o final, fiquei preso atras de um carro lento e fui ultrapassado. Terminei em segundo, 0.3s atras do lider, depois de 6horas. A corrida foi muito disputada e o bom resultado foi importante para a equipe ganhar confianca para as proximas corridas.

Long Beach Race

The Long  Beach race was strange. In the first lap, my team mate crashed and we lost 7 laps fixing the car.
I drove most of the race and I had a fantastic speed. My best lap was 1second faster than the race winner,and the new track record for LMPC, but we were 7 laps down. We finished P7 and It was frustrating have such a good car and not getting a good result. In the other hand, I enjoyed driving again in Long Beach and in the race my car was fast and fun to drive. Now, we are concentrating to go as fast and get a good result in the next race in Laguna Seca.

A corrida de Long Beach foi estranha. Na primeira volta meu companheiro bateu o carro e perdemos 7 voltas para arrumar. Depois disto, eu pilotei a corrida toda. O carro estava muito bom e fiz a volta mais rapida com 1 segundo a frente do vencedor da corrida, mas no final terminamos em Setimo, 7 voltas atras. Foi frustante, mas por outro lado eu me diverti em dirigir em Long  Beach, uma pista de rua que eu gosto muito. Agora e caprichar para a proxima corrida em Laguna Seca.

Long Beach qualify

In the first day at Long Beach, we did a 2hours session on the rain. My team mate Tomy Drissi drove first and I Did the last 30minutes. I finished P2 on a wet track. The car felt good and I was ready for qualify. The track dried and we were ready for a dry session. In the middle of the GT qualify, it started to rain hard And the session stop. The ALMS decided to cancel qualify and start by the points. We will star P6. No primeiro dia de treinos em Long Beach, tivemos uma sessão de 2 horas sobre muita chuva. Meu companheiro andou No começo e eu fiz os últimos 30minutos. Se forçar muito terminei em P2. A pista secou e pensei que a clasificação fosse ser no seco, mas 10 minutos antes de começar, voltou a chover forte e a catgoria cancelou a classificação e Vamos largar por pontos, em sexto lugar. O carro esta bom e vai dar para andar bem. Bruno

Long Beach preview

This weekend I will race in Long Beach. It is a very nice and traditional street circuit in California. I have been on the pole and I few times on the podium here, but never won the race. This year, with the RSR team, I think we could have a good race and try to get my first win in Long Beach. This weekend we share the track with the Indycars and is nice to see some friends on the paddock. There are a lot of good cars, driver and will be some exciting Races. Tomorrow, Friday, we have the first practice and qualify in the afternoon. The race is Saturday. I will post the results during the weekend. Let's drive fast and have fun!!! Bruno

Neste fim de semana fiz a minha primeira corrida do ano na American LeMans. Foi a 12 horas de Sebring. Larguei na Pole e pilotei as primeiras 2 horas e meia. Entreguei o carro em primeiro e meus companheiros mantiverem a lideranca ate 6 horas de corrida, quando tivemos um problema na embragem e perdemos mais de 1 hora para arrumar. No final terminamos em Setimo. Estou postando umas fotos e um video muito legal da onboard camera a noite.
